Designed to celebrate the beauty of life, The Memento Moooi Wallcovering is an artistic collection inspired by the unique qualities of five glorious extinct animals.
Colourful, contemporary, and conscious, the Memento Moooi Wallcovering collection is set to be every design and animal lover’s dream. Launched in early spring 2022, this unique wallcovering series made from original and unexpected materials takes inspiration from five extinct wildlife species that are known to portray kind and loving characteristics. These include Mimic Moths, loving Dandelion Cranes, social Golden Tigers, fearless Pogo Goats, and peaceful Queen Cobras – animals that, according to Moooi, “lived and loved like there would be no tomorrow.”
Featuring meticulous craftsmanship, the collection is available in different colours and a variety of materials including wood veneer, sisal, gold foil, pleated paper, and textile. Each design expresses the unique attributes of one of the five animals it represents.
For the Mimic Moth Wallcovering, its soft suede material is given a 3D effect to reflect the moth’s shape and habitat while pleated paper resembling feathered fans is used for the Dandelion Cranes collection to portray the Cranes unique fan-like wings. The Golden Tiger series, on the other hand, is made from laser-cut wood veneer with gold foil and comes in three different colourways. For the Pogo Goat, soft chenille fabric with intricate patterns reminds us of the goat’s yearly migration instincts. Finally, the Queen Cobra Wallcovering, which is inspired by the Cobra’s rhythmic curves, denotes a beautiful composition of hypnotic overlapping shapes made from handwoven sisal fibres.
“The Memento Moooi Wallcovering collection will remind you to cherish each moment, make amazing memories, and celebrate life for as long as it lasts,” Moooi says. “Some designs in the collection narrate a story, and others stimulate your senses with imagery and textures. The result? Striking tactile designs that make an impact and breathe life and kindness into your home.”
