Conceived within one of London’s most storied landmarks, this Maxalto-designed home redefines quiet luxury, where classical balance, architectural poetry, and contemporary artistry converge within light-filled, meticulously crafted interiors.
Behind the restored façade of The Whiteley, Europe’s first Maxalto-furnished residence unfolds as a dialogue between heritage and contemporary design. Set within the building’s iconic clock tower, the collaboration brings together London’s architectural legacy and the enduring artistry of Maxalto under the vision of Antonio Citterio. The apartment stands as a celebration of proportion, material harmony, and quiet sophistication.

Bathed in daylight from The Whiteley’s reimagined 1911 glass dome by Foster + Partners, the 4,349-square-foot residence reveals a sculptural composition of volume and light. The open-plan living and dining area expresses Maxalto’s signature restraint, where a wenge Intoto table anchors the space beneath Skygarden pendants by Flos, and the Lilum sofa traces an elegant architectural curve. Rich materials such as Sahara Noir marble, tobacco leather, and Bianca Eclipsia quartzite create a tactile dialogue between warmth and structure, heritage and modernity.
At its core, the clock tower room soars six metres high, crowned by a circular window framing panoramic views across London. A bespoke floor-to-ceiling bookcase with stitched leather shelves and a cluster of Noctambule pendants defines this luminous chamber, where craftsmanship and light coexist in quiet rhythm.

Throughout, custom boiserie, brass accents, and bespoke furnishings create an atmosphere of enduring refinement. The principal suite features a Kasia leather headboard with integrated brass lighting and a walk-in dressing room fitted with Maxalto’s Backstage wardrobes. The study, appointed with Biblia bookcases in black oak and a Calacatta marble Pathos desk, conveys precision and calm.
The residence opens to a private 952-square-foot terrace dressed with B&B Italia Outdoor pieces that extend the interior’s serenity into the open air. Within The Whiteley, residents enjoy a curated world of wellness, including a spa, library, and 20-metre pool, part of Queensway’s landmark revival.

In every surface and gesture, the Maxalto residence embodies timeless Italian sensibility and the architecture of light. It is not simply a home but an expression of heritage, craftsmanship, and emotion transformed into living art.
