With sweeping views across Sagami Bay, Casa CABaN Hayama brings Patricia Urquiola’s thoughtful architecture and Kettal’s timeless furnishings into harmonious dialogue.

Kettal | Perched above the tranquil shoreline of Sagami Bay, Casa CABaN Hayama presents hospitality as an immersive experience where architecture, interiors and landscape exist in complete harmony. Designed by Patricia Urquiola and STUDIO URQUIOLA, the boutique retreat offers a quiet interpretation of luxury, replacing excess with warmth, intimacy and a profound connection to nature.

With only fourteen guestrooms, every space is carefully composed to celebrate the surrounding coastline. Expansive terraces frame uninterrupted views of the sea and the distant silhouette of Mount Fuji, while natural materials, muted colours and handcrafted finishes establish a refined yet deeply personal atmosphere. Sunlight, sea breeze and changing coastal light shape moments that unfold naturally throughout the day.

Outdoor living is central to Casa CABaN Hayama, where Kettal’s collections seamlessly extend the architectural language beyond the building envelope. The Insula modular outdoor eeating creates generous beachfront lounges for conversation, relaxation and quiet contemplation. Complementing these settings, the Band Club Chair, Roll Club Chair, Roll Side Table, Insula Side Table, Insula Square Table and Plumon Sofa introduce sculptural forms and tactile comfort that reinforce the project’s understated elegance.

Rather than competing with the architecture, each piece contributes to a seamless dialogue between built form and landscape. Their soft silhouettes, carefully balanced proportions and inviting materials reinforce the calm rhythm established throughout the hotel, allowing guests to experience the outdoors with the same level of comfort found inside.

As Patricia Urquiola’s first fully directed hotel project in Japan, Casa CABaN Hayama demonstrates how thoughtful design can transform hospitality into something deeply emotional. Through the harmonious integration of architecture, craftsmanship and Kettal’s contemporary outdoor collections, the project offers a timeless retreat where every space encourages guests to slow down, reconnect with nature and embrace the quiet beauty of coastal living.
