The Pablo Outdoor collection’s harmonious fusion of refined details and cosy proportions gracefully transcends the functionality of outdoor living with an architectural edge.
The great outdoors is the primary source of inspiration for B&B Italia’s 2022 outdoor series where wood, aluminium, and cement take the centrestage – as exemplified by the Pablo Outdoor collection. With its bold design and innovative proportions, the Pablo armchair by renowned architect Vincent Van Duysen now comes in an outdoor version, completing a series that includes armchairs of two depths, a sofa, and footrests.
“My first collection for B&B Italia’s outdoor line develops the Pablo armchair features and adds layers of softness, and the tables are a link to my architectural world,” remarks Vincent Van Duysen.
Staying true to the designer’s vision. Pablo Outdoor has kept the spirit of the original project by using teak wood, an ideal material for outdoor environments. A distinct architectural language is the essence of this collection. The components are expressed as linear, solid, and highly geometric shapes, resulting in a balance between straight and curved lines in the supporting frame.
With its uninterrupted surface and removable rods to anchor the rear fabric panel, the frame was designed to simplify the maintenance of the wood and textile, allowing it to be treated as needed. All these unique features culminate into an aesthetically practical solution that lets clients choose to either let their product age naturally or have it restored to its original condition.
An outstanding aspect of Pablo Outdoor is the way its sleek and continuous form combined with the smooth quality of wood create a pleasant tactile outcome. In addition to the deep seat, the back is enhanced with cushions that can be placed at any angle for added comfort and softness. A generously upholstered cushion covers the lower seat, creating a cocoon-like nook perfect for alone time or getting together. The collection also features a width of 210cm, making it compatible with two depths of armchairs – one reserved for intimate conversations, the other for lounging luxuriously.
Pablo Outdoor’s small cement tables perfectly match its seats’ strong but soft lines. To offer design versatility, the small tables are available in two sizes and two colours: an antiqued white and cement grey version that is ideal as an island; and a higher, narrower model with a square base that pairs beautifully with the sofa or armchair.
